What a year, 2022 review

Well, it’s that time of the year, days are getting shorter, it’s pretty cold outside and that typically is the time for me to get cosy on the sofa and review the year. This year was a special one, I was able to achieve a couple of awesome milestones in my professional career

During the first half of 2022, I was preparing to present my very first session which I successfully delivered in June 2022 at DataGrillen.

After DataGrillen, I wrote one of my first blog posts where I described the experience as a first-time speaker. Surprisingly, my blog post was picked up by Brent Ozar and shared in the “Brent Ozar Unlimited® Weekly Links, June 13th Edition”.

Since April 2022, I participated in T-SQL Tuesday 7 times, if you’re wondering what it is, it’s a fun way to think about a certain topic which is determined by the month’s host, you can find more info on tsqltuesday.com

In the meanwhile, we, the dataMinds team were also preparing for our annual event dataMinds Connect. Which was a good event at Lamot Mechelen, Belgium on October 10 & 11, 2022.

During the preparation of dataMinds Connect, I still found some time to continue blogging. I wrote a “How to get started with Database Projects & Azure DevOps” blog series which will be fully delivered by the end of January 2023. The first blog posts in this series were well-received and also support the session which I’m currently delivering at a couple of User Groups.

This brings me to new presenting opportunities. After DataGrillen, I had the luck to present at the Southampton Data Platform & Cloud User Group in a hybrid setup. Presenting in person at the DataBristol User Group and at SQL Saturday MN virtually. At every event, I received good and fair feedback.

Currently, I already have a couple of ideas for 2023 and I hope I can continue blogging and presenting.

To conclude my last blog post for this year, I would like to thank you for reading and supporting me. I wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

See you in 2023!
